A Year of Sundays

I'm finally dusting off this blog! Three posts within three days!

The last couple months of school were busy! I had plans on blogging about quite a few of the activities my kiddos were involved in. However, time got the best of me. So this summer I am going to be playing catch up! I even noticed that I have four blog posts drafted, but never finished!

Here are the diptychs from the last two weeks for our little photo project "A Year of Sundays." Heather (Loose Shoelaces) and I are on a roll! Again, Heather's image is always on the left and mine on the right. If you love taking photos, I suggest you try out a fun little creative project. It's such a fun outlet for me and it's even better sharing the journey with someone else!

A Year of Sundays

Finally getting around to posting the last five weeks of our project photos! Heather (Loose Shoelaces) and I are still at it! We just finished the 3rd month of our project...only 9 more months to go and loving every minute of it. I still get all giddy waiting for Heather's email with her weekly shots!! It so fun to see if there are any similarities or drastic differences. I love the angle of her shot on May 4th. Getting down at her adorable pooches. She is always making the yummies looking deserts too! Drooling.

There are quite a few similarities over the past few weeks.  In Sneaky Bird and Doggie Blanket both our shots have the focal point located in the left hand corner. May 4th is obvious... our pups. On our  Beauty and the Beast image (just noticed it as I was blogging) our focal point is at the top of our image. Those similarities are why I love doing this project! I also love it when we have such contrasting shots like our Outside Inside diptych.

Heather's image is always on the left and my image is on the right.

A Year of Sundays Photo Project!

I heart photography and love being creative and seeking out photos that aren't the usual suspects. I'm working on this project with my blogging friend Heather over at Loose Shoelaces. I always look forward to sharing our photos and creating the diptychs. Once the year is over, I am going to make a nifty photo book with all of our diptychs.  It will be such a fun little book...a glimpse into both our lives for a whole year on Sundays.

I've gotten WAY behind in my blogging. This seems to be a recurring thing for me...hahaha! I have a ton of things I want to blog about and I told myself I would catch up during Spring Break. Well, Spring Break has come and gone.

Check out the last six weeks of our images!
Heather's shot is always on the left and my shot is always on the right. It's fun to see the similarities and differences in our shots each week. We never discuss what we will be shooting...the only criteria is it takes place on Sunday!

A Year of Sundays!

Heather (Loose Shoelaces) and I are 6 weeks into our year long photo project only 46 weeks left! Every week I look forward to Sundays because it allows me to get out my camera and document a moment of my life.

The photos we took for the last two weeks are VERY similar! We never ever discuss what we will take photos of and to top it off, we don't even live in the same state. That's what makes this project so much fun. We have weeks in which things are completely opposite and weeks in which our photos have commonalities.

Heather's image is always on the left and my image is always on the right.

Wowsa!! Heather's adorable nephew and my pooch, Hans, are both smack dab in the middle of the frame. Of course it doesn't stop there, they are both looking straight in to the camera. I can't get over how much these photos are alike. What are the odds of this????

Again we were on the same wavelength. Both our images have to do with food/drinks.

This is such a fun project and if you like photography, you should try something like this out!

A Year of Sundays

We've finally gotten some rain here in CA and I am loving every minute of it!! I'm secretly happy it arrived on the weekend. I'm not a big fan of rainy days at work...

Here are the diptychs for the last two weeks for our Year of Sundays project. I definitely look forward to getting my camera out on Sundays and trying to look at my world in a different light. I love how our February 23 image is so different, yet the colors are similar. Lol, I just realized both of my images have to do with water! It has been interesting to see a few similarities with our images (we never discuss what we will be shooting). You can check out our first two weeks here.

Heather's (Loose Shoelaces) image is always on the left and mine on the right. :)

A Year of Sundays: Collaborative Photo Project

Super excited to embark on not one, but two photography projects! This world of blogging has been amazing and I have met so many wonderful teachers. One of those teachers is Heather over at Loose Shoelaces. We both share a love for photography and all things vintage (she definitely has better style than me!)

Our first project is titled A Year of Sundays. Yes, that's right folks, I said a year! Every Sunday, we will have our cameras in tow and capture our lives on a typical Sunday. Basically capturing the beauty that surrounds our every day lives in a unique and creative way. We will create a diptych  each week with both our images. Heather's image will always be on the left and mine on the right. Over the course of the year, it will be pretty nifty to see of any similarities that may happen within our images (like this week, we both had outdoor photos).

I know the main focus of my blog is for teaching purposes, but I have three passions in life... teaching, traveling, and photography and sometimes it's just too difficult to separate them!

Our diptychs for last week and this week:
